Daal and black eyed beans curry

I like to experiment and use my imagination when it comes to cooking. As such I tried this recipe of my own and it turned out really delicious. I used Sambar Masala powder but changed the ingredients around a bit to suit family taste.
Ingredients:
4 tsps Sambar Masala powder
1tsp cumin powder
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
One vegetable cube
3 tsps tomatoes paste
2 tsps ginger garlic paste
Two cups yellow masoor daal or known as yellow lentils. Washed and drained
1cup black small beans washed and drained
3 small diced peeled potatoes
2 small onions chopped to saute
4 to 5 tbsp corn oil
Five to six cups of water
Recipe:
Combine all the ingredients together except for onion and oil.
Bring it to boil and simmer on low heat until thickens
Saute onion in a separate pan until dark golden brown.
Add in to the mixture as it will give a deep aroma
Cover and simmer for ten minutes and serve with rice.
