Dear Respected Sir,
I am writing to you today to give you this wonderful news of opening of Kartarpaur Corridor on Saturday Nov 9, 2019.
Yes on Nov 9, 2019, 17 months after your tragic death from Cardiac arrest in the age of 86 your 24-year struggle for your Sikh people was finally answered.
You should know that not everyone has the imagination, desire, courage and above all strength to dream of an initiative selflessly with an intention to bring peace, joy and happiness in their fellow brothers and sisters lives but you did. It makes my heart melt to read and to hear about your sacrifices that you made to give your dream of opening of Kartarpaur Corridor a reality.
Today it is all real. Who would have thought to pray every year at the border of Pakistan and India on Masya (Full Moon) to Lord with all His powers, uniqueness, and completeness with a desire in heart and vision in eyes for Sikhs to see and visit the beautiful place of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Sahib.
Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpaur is located in Pakistan in the province of Punjab. It is a sacred place for all Sikhs. You felt the pain of every Sikh who gathered on the Indian side for sacred viewing of the Kartarpaur Sahib using the binoculars and not being able to touch its walls and walk on its grounds. You felt that every Sikh had a right to be able to visit Kartarpaur Sahib and just not be able to view its shrine from Indian side where Guru Nanak Sahib settled himself, lived for 18 years and continued with his teachings to believe in one God, universal brother-hood, love, humility, simplicity, equality and tolerance.
Kartarpaur Corridor was opened by Pakistan’s current Prime Minister Imran Khan to embrace, embody and implement Quaid-E-Azam (Founder of Pakistan) vision where Mr. Jinnah said addressing the first constituent assembly of Pakistan on 11th August 1947,
āYou are free; you are free to go to your temples; free to go to your mosques or to any other places of worship in the State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or cast or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the stateā.
With great respect for Imran Khan in my heart for his efforts in opening of Kartarpaur corridor, I as a Pakistani Canadian citizen salute you for your efforts that you started 24 years ago.
You are a real hero. The whole world will always look up to your mission knowing that you selflessly gave to your people and asked for nothing in return. Not even for your name to be included in the list of over 600 people chosen by the Punjab Government for a special award in Kapurthala on Sunday Nov 10th, 2019 to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
Respected Kuldip Singh Wadala sir, today I salute you for all your efforts.
